Bianca has the Cutting Edge
UK’s hairdressing student of the year is just one of many star performers at Reid Kerr

Bianca Gray has shown that she is a cut above the rest after being crowned the UK’s Hairdressing Student of the Year. The 19 year old student at Paisley’s Reid Kerr College triumphed over hundreds of students in the Hairdressing Council’s competition. Bianca, who is studying for an SVQ level 2 in Hairdressing, works at Hair and Beauty Gallery in the Quality Hotel at Central Station, Glasgow. She’s the first Scottish winner of the award.

Bianca has a head start in her field as both her parents are hairdressers. She said: “My parents are a hard act to follow, so that makes it even more pleasing to win this.” The college is delighted with Bianca’s success too. John Baird, Head of the Hospitality Hairdressing and Beauty Department at Reid Kerr said: “She’s definitely a rising star, a very talented young lady who will go far.”
